I'm 15 and I'm really shy. I'm trying real hard to come out of my glass shell. I usually hesitate. So I need to say things like whatsup or how's it going except less cornier. so any ideas?

First of all wee one, you don't live in a "glass" shell. You are "shy", and that means your "introverted". The expression is" People living in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones", and that expression is used when some gossips. My advice to you is to make casual conversation by: Bye the way, I like your hair! or shoes! or outfit! - go on to ask: where did you get it? or where do I go to get one? - if your passing on the street or in class and the other persons greets you - then take that opportunity to "open" the conversation with - Hi - and carry on with - want to check out lunch together? - or want to walk to the next class together? from there you can take the lead. Good Luck - being shy is an advantage, you get to hear everything other people are saying and you get a jump start on who you will or won't associate with. Good Luck in your life, and just be you - for every YOU there is another You for You. Get it!!

There is nothing corny about saying whats up lol! Seriously, being shy is considered 'cute' for some reason in the guy department. If you want to come out of your shell just be yourself and don't worry about how much your mom or dad try to hold you back. I have the same problem, every time I started joking around or something with someone my mom would yell at me so I became shy and didn't like talking to anyone. Now that it's a bit late to fix my status I have to turn it around in the adult world, ten times harder. Just be yourself :)

they say never start off talking about religion or politics...sex is a bad thing to talk about too.

sure, first say hi, you can ask how they are, ask something about them like where are they going, you can talk about the weather, ask about school, if they have home room in the morning or afternoon, ask about their cell phone. If they are in your class you can ask them a question relating to that day's subject matter or about a test question. If you don't know and want to you can ask them whereabouts they live, further into a conversation you can ask them what their favorite music is and if they like to dance, or if they saw a certain movie, or ask them if they spend time on the net, if they researched a certain class project, or if they are in chatrooms or forums, talk about your computer or a glitch it has, ask if they go to the mall, ask what they want for christmas, etc. etc.

Say "What's GOIN ON"
or " How YOU DOIN?"
Or the best one right here....
"Seen any great movies lately?'
