There is no way to replace the filter in a Honda automatic, unless you tear down the entire transmission and rebuild it. It sounds like you have a sensor problem, or the transmission itself could be going bad. .A good transmission shop may be able to help you. It is possible that a transmission flush will help, but even then you are looking at over $100.
With no money, and bad credit, you are going to have to make some sort of change in your life. You either need to work a second job to get the money to repair or replace your car, or you have to deal with being without a car for a while. Stores are hiring additional help for the holidays now. You may be able to find a solution to your situation with them!
Sorry

I had some friends that were trany mechanics and one of the first things that they would try was a part on the trany called a modulator. a piece connected to the trany. Whether your honda has one or not I cannot say but many times the changing of the modulator was the fix, and it was not expensive. next was the filter in the trany pan. They would change that and the trany oil. verses a trany job. wish u the best

Could be the vacuum modulator, accelerator shift linkage, or a shot tranny.
Try starting in 1 or L, then shift it maually. If it works, use it that way until it totally craps out. That tranny is 17 years old, and probably has over 150k miles on it.

I say the catalytic converter is clogged, and your engine can not produce enough power. I don't know if the Honda has a converter? If it does a way to cheap way to clear it is too take it off the car and run a steel rod through it and dump out what you have loosened up. but get a new converter as soon as possible. the environment is a terrible thing to waste

You have likely done that but check to see if you have fluid in it. The other thing to do is to drain the fluid and change the filter. You may have low flow. All of this checks out OK, then you have some bad components. Rebuild coming up.

i own a repair shop, and just because you have reverse don't mean the transmission is good in it,is probably out on it,, the most of the cars that have bad transmissions in them still have reverse in them, but i think yours is gone you might want o have it checked ,but id say if you smell the fluid in it,it probably smells burnt,so its probably gone out,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Check the linkage as well as the fluid level. Other wise you may need a replacement. This assumes you have power from the engine as you did not clarify that.
