Ohio State Stadium Turf 'souvenir'. How to preserve with color intact?

A friend took a piece of staduim turf (with line paint)home . I think it's either going to rot or maybe dry to straw color. Is there anything to preserve it dry but still green with it's paint?

Plant it in a nearby mulch bed that case you want get it confused with your own grass. And if it doesn't survive your just going to put it in a jar or somethin.

Plant it inside and set up the water to go underneath the turf. Putting water on the paint will ruin the paint over time.
