Amazon has many mainstream albums sampled in several formats on their website. For Hawaiian music, I use mele.com, and I'm sure there are specialty outlets for other kinds of music.

You can use www.purevolume.com It's a good place to check out music,tons of bands/artists put up a few of their songs and let you either stream or download (legally) them.
