There may be more than one viewpoint to a question, I've answered several questions on this site, that after reading the answers from others, we each are right. Some one can add to the information collected, a lot of answers are sometimes needed to get the complete picture.

sometimes the site does it by it's self like if you don't pick a best answer after i think it's 2 days answers will put the question up for vote even if there isn't a answer unless you extend the date on the question!

Because questions are not being put to vote -- answers are. And some answers are much better than others. 16 might be the correct answer to a very complicated math problem, but an answer that shows how he/she got he answer in detail has given a much better answer than sombody who simply says 16.

Similarly, someone who asks why he/she does not have any friends, has no use for answers that are flippant or foolish, or cruel. He/she is looking for an answer that can help him/her in his social life.

There are countless examples that show some answers are definitely better than others. Certainly you can see that.
