Don't do it. It's tantamount to prostituting yourself. He'll say anything if he's interested in the green card. I've seen it over and over. Marry for love, marry for money, but understand the consequences of marrying.

Long answer:
Before the answer, here is a question: How do you know it is "for real and not to get papers and walk away."?
If I were the person who was legal and a woman wanted to marry me (and she was not a legal immigrant) I would have a nagging little doubt in the back of my head that she was just using me. Even if I thought I loved her. If I was in love with her I would probably ignore the little voice inside me. Probably to my own detriment.
This happened to my sister. He turned out to be a real jerk. A wife beater. He cut her with a knife. I would have probably lost my freedom over this, since I was about 22. But my sister never told me until years later. My sister fell in love with this ^%##!!!. She could not, or would not, see his true motives.

You should get married to a person because you love them and you want to be with the person for the rest of your life.
You should not marry a person just because she or he wants to legalise their immigration status. I've heard of people that do do this, but what happens if you get caught. Don't they go to prison?

This is the best option to get a background check https://tr.im/aMLW0
Currently there are a lot of reasons to perform a criminal background check in today's community. These arguments vary from questions over a spouse's fidelity to misgivings regarding a recently hired sitter. There are several surprising figures out now that strengthen these doubts, and in many instances it is better to be safe than sorry. You may not realize it, but there can be quite a lot of people checking up on you. Potential employers top the list. Companies usually conduct background checks on job applicants primarily as a means to verify the credentials that you may have listed on your resume.

Marrying for immigration purposes alone is difficult as you will be asked questions about each other to see if the relationship is for real. If the authorities deem it isn't, you will be stuck in a marriage that's a sham for no reason at all.
Best to marry for love, not for convenience.

i have a girlfriend who felt as though she was in love with a man from slovakia. when his time was up and had to leave they quickly decided that they would marry before the date that he needed to go.
she ignorantly felt that if she married him and they cohabitated that he would fall in love with her too.... needless to say, he never did feel the same about her, and she has had 3 yrs of marriage that were unfulfilling and VERY emotionally damaging. she doubts herself, and has no self esteem, because he never grew to have the feelings they had hoped would stem from the union.... not to mention the fact that she is 28 and feels like she wants to be married but in a real relationship, but her marriage to this man who doesn't love her is keeping her from finding the right/another guy.
in sooooooo many ways it is not a good situation.
they determined that he would pay her 3000 dollars and half of the bills for doing him the favor, and needless to say, she is in debt over her head cuz he doesn't pay his portion while attending school, and she has never seen one single dime of the 3000 that they aggreed on. pretty much, he gets to live the high life in america, attending our schools and taking our jobs, and she, the american, gets the raw, dirty, disrespectful, crappy end of the stick.

No absolutely not. Marriage is a binding contract between one man and one woman for life. Marriage should only be undertaken between two people who want to spend the rest of there lives together in one partner ship and should only be disolved in the case of adultery.

I believe people should only get married if they are really in love. Marrying someone just to be able to get into a country is shallow.
