Israeli soldiers launched an offensive in Beit Hannoun, in Gaza, and killed over a hundred Palestinian civilians, claiming that rockets had been fired from the region. Victims included children and women; one particular case was an Israeli sniper killing a 12 year old girl, but having "missed" the supposed Hamas militant he was aiming for.
