It could be the diaper, I use desitin the zinc oxide is what helps or vaseline, when my baby has a diaper rash. You should just take the diaper off and let him play free. A hairdryer on low will also soothe the area, you need to dry the rash out though. hopefully these suggestions will help!

I think you should stop using the baking soda, because this is putting salt into an open wound. Have you tried using a different brand of diapers. Try using Huggies or cloth diapers at least until the rash clears up. Let your baby's diaper area air out throughout the day. Don't use any diaper rash cream. A lot of times this can make the rash worse. I would get the baby to a different doctor A.S.A.P.

My daughter used to get really bad diaper rashs that would bleed and we tryed everything for her and nothing worked untill my older sister gave us some vermonts original bag balm.It is normally used for the udders of dairy cows but it is the only thing that worked for my daughter. I have only sen it at 1 pharmacy so ask a pharmacist or go to a farm animal store thing. It comes in a green can like thing and here in nebraska at the pharmacy it only cost like 6 dollers and last for a long time.

Take your son to the doctor. It could be a yeast infection which looks like a rash.
