You could make nice Christmas cards if you look in the scrapbooking section at Wal-Mart or something they are pretty cheap.

You could knit. I have a knifty knitter which you can also get a Wal-Mart or craft stores and it is very easy to learn and all you really need is the kit which costs 10-15 dollars and a skein of yarn and you can make hats, scarves, mittens and much more.

You could make candles here is a good site to look at for making ones without having to pour hot wax:

You could decorate coffee mugs if you just get some plaster of Paris and cover the outside and ONLY the outside of coffee mugs and take a dull pencil and put designs in the plaster and then fill in the new indentations of your design with paint. It may or may not be plaster of paris I'm not sure so you may want to use something else.

If you have kids they can make handmade ornaments that you can find various places on the Internet.

I have looked into this before... :)

Hope I helped!

u shouldn't owe sum1 a gift a gift is sumthing u give sum1 b/c u want 2 not b/c u have 2. Ne way u could always make them a gift those are the best kind b/c it has thought into it u just don't drive 2 the store grab sumthing off and the shelf and wrap it. It makes people feels like u really care when u make them sumthing and sumtimes that's all people need, but in this case it doesn't sound like these people r ur true friends if they expect a present and they might not appreciate a gift made by hand.

Gifts are given from the heart; how do you "owe" someone gifts?
However, if you're unemployed and don't have the financial stability to afford gifts at the current time then you should make homemade gifts.

If that's the deal then this is the time to be crafty. I mean people get so caught up in the price of gifts that they don't even consider the value of gifts that don't have a price tag on them. You could do anything, like make them something or take a picture of the two of you and frame it, etc. Or even just explaning your situation and hanging out with them would be enough. If they get pissed than maybe you don't need to be hanging out with those people in the first place.

Nothing. GIFTS are an extra! Poeple gives gifts because they want to. Your friends should be very understanding that you have been unemployed. But if ppl expect you to give in return it doesnt work that way. I know its tough but ppl have to realize that giving GIFTs to others is being thoughful and shouldnt expect a gift in return.

Gifts are not something you owe to someone. Most people will be happy with you showing you care and probably giving them a smile. If not, I don't know if I would call them friends or tradesmen.

If a person gives a gift, with the expectation of getting something in return, it's not a gift, it's a bartering item. You give gifts when you are financially able to give them. Otherwise, in my opinion, it's just ego.
