Sweet potatoes are a must have on Thanksgiving, I usally do both, sweet potatoes baked, and regular potatoes mashed.

In my family we usually do both, as some people like the sweet and some like the other. We tend to make whipped sweet potatoes and roasted garlic potatoes au gratin in my house.
