I won't write down films I like but some films have this feeling or aura within 10 minutes of them starting.

They have a "I like this film" effect on you and totally let you to enter into the film and 'join' it emotionally.

I hope you can understand this feeling of 'flow' - like you leave your seat and just become part of the film.

What makes a film produce this effect?

It's a magical combination of writing, direction, scoring and editing all working in the same 'flow' leaving us to emmerse into this flow. I totally get what you're saying. Sometimes as soon as a movie starts, I KNOW, I am going to love the movie!

The immense amount of advertising to play on your senses, that whole "The movie event of the year" crap really bogs me down, so to find a movie in which I can honestly be enveloped into the plot without being suckered into it is always a nice surprise.

Perhaps it is the way it is written in the 1st person format and you can feel like you are inside the character.
