Well, if you like sci-fi/fantasy you might want to go to Baen's Books and sign in. You can go to the chat room or the Bar and converse with other readers as well as authors' and ask and receive answers and all sorts of advice. You can also go to the site where you can not only read ebooks free, but download them too. Have fun.

Don't know of any off-hand, but check with your local library. They often have electronic resources or are part of a library organization that subscribes to those services for e-books.
