Yes. Ouija boards are sold a toys/amusements, but take them seriously if you dare to use them.
Many years ago I bought one and enjoyed the answers and the seeming life-of-its-own movements of the planchette. One night we were working it when my oldest daughter, Patty, came home. The Ouija board immediately stopped the message being given, and "said": Let Patty do it. Imagine everyone's surprise. Patty didn't want to work the board, though, and later I found out why. She said she had strange feelings and nightmares. She felt as though something evil wanted to possess her. She had to pray for protection from the evil spirit every night while she was away in the military.
What I'm getting at is, don't think it's a toy. Ask God for protection from evil spirits before you use the Ouija board. When you open your mind to spirit reception they will come. Some are not evil, some are.
Take it seriously or leave it alone.

I have had the experience that eveytime I have used a Ouija Board with my friends, nothing happened except my friends trying to force the pointer to move. Cheaters! One time I went with two friends to an abandoned home that was supposedly haunted to try to conjure up some ghosts. We all had our hands on the pointer and I sat that there as the other two forcibly moved the pointer around to spell out words and a name for the ghost we were allegedly talking to. And they acted all freaked out. I was just sitting there rolling my eyes at them. So, I don't think the board has any special power. Well at least none of the ones I have used had any. I think it's because they were all made by Milton Bradley. Too bad though, I have always wanted to have a supernatural experience.

First of all, I have no idea why the thing moves, but even when I did them alone they moved all over. I have often wondered...anyway I haven't used one since I was 14 and I really don't believe in them. BUT...I have a really good story.
When I was 14 my best friend and I decided to play with the ouija board during a sleepover and we did all they typical crap... asking about future boyfriends, etc. Then we seemed to get a message out of nowhere about someone named Sal, that died in a plane crash in 1978. Well, we freaked, but were intrigued so of course we kept asking questions and talked to the "spirit" until we were totally spooked. Finally, we were so freaked, we quit. We put it in the box, back on the shelf, in the closet. At 3ish in the am we were woke up by a loud bang. The board had fallen out of the box, off the shelf and the closet door was now cracked open. We were home alone, her parents were still out. We went shrieking through the house and finally got a baseball bat. We snuck back into the room, them bashed the hell out of the board, broke it into pieces and threw the box, board bits and all in the neighbors garbage. I laugh now, but I didn't sleep right for weeks after that.

I have had out-of-body experiences & seen ghosts. I kid you not. Because of this I was utterly terrified of the idea of ouija boards, but a few years ago I was living in a flat that had a spirit. The house is over a century old and was home to many Jews before the Holocaust began, and many of my neighbours of all ages & sexes told stories of their spirit(s). Mine was bitter and angry. He was looking for someone to harm, but not any old person. Not me, I just felt him. And I was afraid, nonetheless. One afternoon I had some friends round and we started a ouija baord to ask this spirit who he was, who he was looking for, & why. And why he kept scaring me. I'm a school teacher and I was 31 years old at the time, not a kid or teen as so many other people seem to have been. He would not reveal his identity except that he was male and had been 56 years old at the time of his very bloody death in the room I had been sleeping in. He was looking for the perpetrator and thus far hadn't been able to find him to bring him to justice. He was trying to ask me for information, not scare me. I said I didn't know and he answered 'Thank you. I will not disturb you again. Shalom!' I never felt the spirit again even though I lived there for another 2 years, but I lost so many roomates because of the ghost. In the end I had to move, but I know the current tennant. She has called in a Catholic priest to exorcise the flat (she's Catholic). He has tried to find a Jewish counterpart to help but hasn't found one yet. As far as I know the place is still haunted, as are most of the flats in the building. The ouija board experience was a good one for me because it helped me to confront the spirit; however, it was a chilling experience at the time and I would not rush to repeat it. (Literally chiling: the room temperature was lowered by several degrees, we all felt cold deep inside - not only had goosebumps, and it took about an hour to warm up aftewards). I'd echo the other respondees who have said don't play with it. Don't take it lightly. It is not a game. As for the ones you can buy in the shops???? Never heard of that. We drew ours, and we used an upturned vodka glass as the thing to be moved. We had no idea there was any other way...

When I was at college, a few girls set up some cards to do a ouija board session, but the lecturer came in so they shuffled them all together and stuffed them behind their backs. After the lecturer left, they turnt around and the cards were all laid out again!! Spooky!!!

Only bad ones.I know they are supposed to be a toy.But I didn't like the things that started to happen after I used it.I am not superstitious, but I do believe that negative residual energy exists.I feel that a device such as the ouija board may open up a channel for such energy.

there are just so many strange experiences out there and ouja boards are just another of them.
A spirualist person told me its easy to be effected by spirits that give you the impression of mental illness. Young kids playing with these boards can conjure up all sorts of spectures and actually act like they have a mental illness but in actual fact they are possessed by a spirit.
These boards that are sold as games and given at Xmas as gifts are not little game board games like double trouble or monopoly but are very serious instuments for contacting the supernatural. And because we don't have enough understanding we risk conjuring up a spirit we cant get rid of. Also these spirits can be very deadly to small children - because small children dont have reserves like adults and are not cynical, so they are at risk of these spirits. These spirits are also attracted to small children. Dont play with them, they are realy dangerous and you dont know what you might be inviting into your home - and also its very hard to get legimate assistance in getting rid of spirits because there are so many hoaxers out there. Be careful and god bless

Yes , but mine weren't as bad as some others . There are two type of board . the cardboard ones sold in game boxes , and the solid wood ones ,rarely sold at " specialty " shops . Both are somewhat dangerous , although the solid wood is much more so . If I were you I'd talk to a priest about it before using one . Bless you .

I'm fifty six years old and I will never have one in my house or even touch one. When I was a child growing up my siblings and I used to play with one, and our house got spirits in it. The people from church asked Mama if we had ever had that game in our house because they are evil. They terrify me. Please throw it out immediately and read Chapters 86 & 88 in the book of Psalms, in the house where the game was at. That will take care of the evilness. No I'm not a nut, just a sane person with a terrible experience.
