Oblivion for the PC?

OK you probbably think I'm an idiot but how do drop an item in Oblivion for the PC.

O.K., it's been a couple of months since i last played the game so i might be off... Hold down shift key and drag with your mouse the object you wish to drop outside the inventory. Once it's out of the inventory frame it should drop before you. If you get a "not enough space to drop item" message try to do it in a more open area without any objects around you.

I don't have Oblivion, but I have Morrowind. I'm pretty sure you just go to your inventory and right click an item and drop.
