i want a PS2 because i want guitar hero and DDR but do u think as soon as the PS3 comes out, the PS2 will go out of style? is it worth it to still buy? I cannot afford a PS3

PS2 is backwards compatible.... so all the new PS3 owners are likely off loading PS2s they don't need anymore for cheap. I'd get a pre-played PS2 and a copy of guitar hero... if you want to up grade to PS3 in a couple years PS2 games will play on the new unit, and you'll be out 80 dollars (for 2 years of gaming)... not bad...

PS2 is fine. Keep in mind that PS3 is backwards compatible so it will play all the old games and the new ones.
Although, for $700, you may be better off getting a used PS2 for less that $100.
Or wait 4 years 'till PS4 comes out and the current PS3 then will be about $200.

If you want a specific game get a PS2. You couldn't find a better deal these days. The PS3 is way too expensive at the present time and there is not much out for it. Unless you are a hardcore gamer go the less expensive route for now.

as for it going out of style no i dnot think it ever will it will always be here and allways be cool it is just that ppl like new things and new things are cooler when they come out
hell i still play my nintendo and super nintendo some times just for the hell of it cause they are still cool to me
even though i have a ps ps2 and i still like to play the retro games too
if i was you i would go ahead and get the ps2 since that is what you can afford there are alot of great games out there for ps2 and just think the ps3 is not going any where you can get one next year when they drop 400 buck lol this is what i plan on doing no sence of wasting money i think i ca wait lol good luck
the sims is a great addictive game to buy on ps2

Yes, I think it's worth it! Besides, the price will be really good on the PS2 with the release of the PS3 - you will find a good deal on it! The PS2 games will be cheaper, too.

If I remember right, PS2 software is compatible with the PS3. So, I would buy the PS3. If you can get your hands on one that is. This is the worst time of the year to shop for anything.

Get a PS2 who cares about "style" your not buying it for "style" your going to get it for the games. PS3 is a rip of money any one who has one already HA!! there going to be cheaper in a few months just wait.

i think so becuase they are not that different exept ps3 has good graphics & ps2 will go out of style probably 4 months
