He is talking about cheating on is current girlfriend with his ex since neither of them really got over each other. I hate that people hear a rock ballot and just assume that is it a love song and people are making it their wedding song. People are so dumb!

People are making this their wedding song? That's funny. But yeah, the guy's ex calls and hes still wants to be with her but he's in another relationship. The meaning isn't hard to figure out as long as you listen to the lyrics. A country artist Jack Ingram is actually redoing this song and making it his new single. It's slower and has more of a country beat to it, I really like the new version too!

In English it potential "see you later", besides the undeniable fact that the literal translation can purely be done in Spanish: "hasta l. a. vista". Or French, "au revoir". all of it potential, "until eventually we meet again". --- @Wulf: In south Germany "tschüß" has drastically been replaced by the Italian "ciao" (say "chow"). that is used at departure, yet also as a greeting. some favor the Austrian "servus" (say "sair-woos", honestly "at your service", from the Latin observe for servant or slave).
