It depends on how the problem is written.

2 - 3 = -1

-1 x 5 = - 5

-5 + 4 = -1

Ans: -1

OR

(2 - 3) x ( 5 + 4 )

-1 x 9 = -9

Ans: - 9

Actually it is quite straightforward. Although a lot of the answers you've been given are wrong. There is only one correct answer as only one correct way to do it, not several, and the - sign is NOT attached to the 3. In Maths there is always a rule for these things, and as some people have said a common way of remembering it is BODMAS or BIDMAS. So
Multiple the 3 by 5 gives you 15
Addition and subtraction have the same priority, so do the sum from left to right now. So
2 subtract 15 gives you negative 13
negative 13 plus 4 gives you the answer of negative 9
Use the same rules for any other sum, it will work if you just go through things logically.

2 - (3 x 5) + 4 = -9

(2 - 3) x (5 + 4) = -9

2 - ((3 x 5 )+ 4)) = -17

((2 - (3 x 5)) + 4 = -9 again

2 ((-3 x 5) + 4)) = -22

2 (-3 x ((5 + 4)) = -54

((2 - 3) x 5)) + 4 = -1

2 - ((3 x (5 + 4)) = -25

I am sure the are other permutations, but I could be wrong.

Order of Operations Parentheses Exponents Multiply Divide upload Subtract you ought to upload and Subtract from Left to suitable AND Multiply and Divide Left to suitable. So, (5 + 4 x 2) - 3 x 2^3 First, is parentheses. whilst finding in parentheses, commence the record yet back, first ingredient now interior is to multiply, then upload. (5 + 4 x 2) - 3 x 2^3 (5 + 8) -3 x 2^3 13 - 3 x 2^3 -----> now, next could be exponents. 13 - 3 x 8 -----> 2^3 is 8. Now, next is to multiply. 13 - 24 ----> in undemanding terms ingredient left is addition and subtraction. 13 - 24 = -eleven -----> bear in mind that once including and subtracting, diverse indicators you subtract and save the sign of the bigger style. subsequently, your answer is damaging eleven.

Simple if you know this rule: BODMAS: Brackets Off Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction, in that order, hence for your problem its Multiply , Add, then Subtract. It's rather ambiguous without brackets, primarily coz you don't know whether the 3 is positive or negative. I say -9

following BODMAS (Brace, Ordinal, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction)

2 - 3 x 5 + 4
2 - 15 + 4
2 - 19

The answer = -17

hmm... think i did something wrong there, my calculator gets -9. Ahh forgot that addition and subtraction have the same priority.

2 - 3 x 5 + 4
2 - 15 + 4
-13 + 4

The answer = -9

the answer wud be -9 quite simple
just follow the order of operations and ul get ur answer. Here we use wat we call BIMDAS brackets Integers Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction so u will have:
2 - 3 x 5 +4
according to the operations u multiply first so ul have -3 x 5 = -15

then u will add so ul have -15 + 4 = -11
and then subtract the 2 and u get -9
