Hmm well in my opinion I think you would find a lot of traditional and unique christmas songs on the movie soundtrack, "Elf" Some of the songs on there range from:
Sleigh Ride/Santa Clause Party by Ferrante & Teicher
Baby It's Cold Outside (in this movie done by Leon Redbone and Zooey Deschanel but many others do that song)
Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt
Sleigh Ride by Ella Fitzgerald
many more that range from jingle bells, nutcracker suite...
If you are looking for more popular there are always Mariah Carey "All I want for Christmas", N'Sync "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" or Martina Mcbride, John Lennon

By far, "The Crib in the Crece" by Bill Pere is the most incredible Christmas song ever! It's on the CD "You'll See a Much Brighter Day," which you can find on any indie music website. My other choices are "My Grown-Up Christmas List" (not sure who the artist is), "A Baby Just Like You" by John Denver, "O Holy Night," and "I Wanna Be Santa Claus" by Ringo Starr.
All but the last one are kinda smooth and/or serious tunes... the last one is just fun!
