The acceptable expression is 'lass'. No need to refer to weight.

200 years ago in England 'fat woman' would be the ultimate compliment implying you have royal connections. - even royal can mean a fat person. So the current popular view of a woman is a skinny bean pole and this view is also probably wrong too. So 'fat lass' currently is offensive in popular culture.
but don't forget Dawn French and the many fat bands out there.

I'm sure the "fat lass" in question who ever she might be would much rather be refered to by her given name it's only common courtesy after all.

Well if you are thin I could call you an anorexic runt which I'm pretty sure you would find offensive!
What has any persons weight Male or Female got to do with how you treat them?
Not only is it offensive (even if true) it is Bigotted!!

lass
if the weight of the person is necessary, use overweight... That is only if it is not an insult in any way
think of it this way - how would you want this phrase said about your mother or your sister?

Double dare you to go and ask a lady who you think might fit that description - and hang around and see what her reaction might be.

I do not find it offencive
then again I'm not a fat lass
maybe just call her slapper
Its not actually suggesting she is fat
so there should be nothing offensive

Would you find it offensive if you were referred to as "that fat lad?" yes it is offensive, larger lady would be preferable I think.
