By definition, a "normal" IQ is 100. Any good IQ test is calibrated for age, education, cultural differences, language, and other variables, so a teenager with an IQ of 115-120 would be considered a little above average. On the other hand, it isn't so much what one's IQ is that matters, it's how hard one works and applies oneself that counts. There are many people with high IQs who have never amounted to much, just as there are many people with "average" IQs who have made great contributions to mankind.

The standard deviation is 15, which means about two-thirds of all people (68%) have an IQ between 85 and 115 (one standard deviation either side of average). 95% have an IQ between 70 and 130, which is where yours is. Realize also that IQ is just a score on a test; don't take it too seriously as a measure of how smart anyone actually is.

Your age is irrelevant, as IQ tests take age into account. An IQ of 117 puts you above about 85% of the population. If you apply yourself, you should do well.

I guess that is good, but success comes from hard work and not from just having an IQ score. Nobody is gonna know your IQ and say "oh wow your smart your going to get into this college or your gonna get this job"
Study hard, get a good gpa in high school and do good on your ACT or SAT and then you will see results.

well thats one below mine... but I took a test a couple of years ago and it was in the 18-23 bracket if that makes a difference. im 15 too

well seeing as 100 is average for any age (it is age weighted) its not too bad It puts you in about the 85th percentile.
