1965 first year without silver in dimes and quarters in general circulation (ever wonder why you almost never see a dime/quarter in general use before 1965?)

Unless you mean the average weight of one penny, one nickel, one dime, one quarter etc. which could be easily calculated (Math 101), it will probably depend somewhat on the source the change came from. For instance, some stores like to price their merchandise ending in 99 cents, some others in 95 cents etc. resulting in different distribution of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. However, there should be some happy median how much a weight unit of coins from various sources people throw in a change jar is worth. Just take the time once and count the money in a pound of coins and then you can just weigh the coins and calculate how much money approximately you have. If you only have dimes, quarters and regular 1/2 dollars, you can get an exact value as one quarter weighs exactly 2.5 times of what a dime weighs and 1/2 dollar is five times the weight of a dime and twice the weight of a quarter. You can Google the weights of individual coins.

I don't remember for sure, but it was somewhere between 1966 and 1968 that they started making the current "sandwich" version. That's when my ex-husband and I started hoarding silver dimes. Your information is probably exactly right.
You can tell the difference by looking at the outside edge of the coin. The "sandwich" variety will have a reddish-gold tone, or even show a clear demarcation between the two metals, whereas the original all silver coin will have a silver-toned sheen.
