There was a point at which I thought I understood the purpose of everything but it turned out I was just being closed-minded. I have come to believe that wisdom is correlated with asking more questions and not with having more answers.

Here is my poem on the subject of points - maybe it doesn't directly answer your question, but I am a person who doesn't always follow the rules exactly to the point.

"Points"

Sometimes
there is no point discussing it
Tell me
what's the point of silence

She said
there is also the turning point
I can turn away from you
The points of their eyes flashed and met

Why don't you count
from infinity to one backwards
if there is no point
He began counting
hoping she would interrupt him
But she closed her eyes and smiled

The point is that he hurt her
and there could be
no end to that accounting
And there are the points in a line
And the line goes straight to hell
without stopping at the red light
And there are the points in a circle
And the circles keeps spinning
until you can't see the point
And there is the point of no return

Sometimes you can draw too fine a point
Oh yes, the pencil point
And if you press too hard
it will break he said

If you want
I can draw a picture
just for you
so you can see the point
she said

If you want
I can draw a picture of every point
you wanted me to see
And that's the moral of the story
or my viewpoint he said

She pointed her finger at him
You, darling, are shot point blank

If you want
I can draw a picture of every point
you wanted me to see
And that's the moral of the story
or my viewpoint he said

She pointed her finger at him
You, darling, are shot point blank

Hi, I think for myself it started to make sense after I hit my 40's. Up until then I never understood the statement "Don't sweat the small stuff", today I fully "get it"!
I suppose for myself I spent too much time when I was younger worrying over what others thought of me and getting enough money to get the material things I wanted. Today I let each day "happen", whatever comes in it, comes. I don't look for problems and if they do come my way I deal with them has and when I can. I appreciate the little things like a sunny day, a free hour or two to get back to a book I'm reading or starting and or talking with my children and friends. I no longer expect myself to be perfect...I am what I am and it's GOOD enough for me...

This is probably going to sound totally naff, but a couple of years ago I read a book called "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff", and it really did change the way I look at the world.

I wouldn't say it was a genuine epiphany or anything, but these days I look at every problem and ask "is this big stuff or small stuff" and it's nearly always small. Hence I don't worry nearly so much as I used to.

Yes. Because my loving is getting failed. I know it is getting failed. I know why it is getting failed. I know I can not save it. I know she can not save it. I knew it will fail when I fell in love with her. She knew it will fail when she fell in love with me. I knew it can not carry it. She knew she can not carry it for more. We could not sense the knowledge. Now it is making sense. Now everything is making sense. I am just making sense ( I am writing while weeping..). I knew would not fulfil my committement. I knew I can not avoid committing to her as she can not hold it. I know I was wrong. I knew all this but It did not make sense. Now everything is making sense..

When I had the 5 ton tractor drive over my entire body. It was really driven home as it came down on my head and I had the NDE. We are light,we are unconditional love. We are here to learn this truth and be it in our every action of our be-ing.
