You can be a happy person because you are made that way. Looks like you are sensitive to your environment, and seek only good things to happen to keep you happy, but only in disharmony we learn a lot of things, being sad is a reminder that you dont deserve this, and you work towards equibilirium and that is going to a state of happiness.
Think about the causes or situations that make you sad. and ask yourself what does this experience has to offer me as growth. If your sadness has no cause then it is good to see your family doctor and get his help.

You can be a 'happy' person. Its just in your mind.
Happiness only comes when your heart is at peace with everyone and every thing. When you are satisfied with what you have and draw a line on your 'wants'. Expectation from others is also main cause of unhappiness. Reduce that to nothing. Good healthy diet, good sleep, and good spiritual cleansing will also add to your happiness.
If sadness comes, accept it as it is going to make you even more stronger and look forward for happiness.
Remember, after every dark night is a bright sunny /cloudy day.
Remember, what ever happens - happens for good only.

One can only be truly happy if they understand our actual propose in life and see things as they are. We are in the world of illusion(Maya) this is not our real home. We can be happy here if one has the veils of illusion remove. (drugs, alcohol, relationships, psychiatrists are all temporary fixes) The quickest and easiest way to have the veils of illusion removed is to chant the Maha Mantra or the Great Mantra for deliverance (deliverance form all suffering misery and illusion.

Stop focusing on being happy. Happiness is a fleeting moment that comes and goes. Work on trying to not be UN-happy and you will have better results. Life is full of situations that will bring us down and surround us with doubts and discouragements. When they happen( and they will for the rest of your life) work on facing them and overcoming them and then move on. When the happy moment happen(and they always will) relish and enjoy them while they last to bolster you through the next cycle.

Maybe it all starts because that's how you regard yourself...So instead of always looking at the negative side...do the opposite...go out with friends, change your sense of thinking, and this maybe a cliche but if your religious pray...
prayer helps the mind and soul...
and if none of this works then seek medical help...go to a counselor, psychiatrist or any of that sort...

i don't know why you get so unhappy with your self what about your family don't they make you happy? maybe you can find a Hobey or something to do that you like and maybe that will help you out what ever your not happy with talk to your friends about it and maybe they can help you out cause my boyfriend is going though the same thing you are he said he is not happy with his life but he is happy with me but he is just not happy where he lives see my boyfriend has a hard tI'me sharing his feelings with other people and his family he keeps them all in and dose not talk about them and i told him that he can come to me about any thing at all. so what im saying don't keep your feelings in share them with your friends.

how often? Throughout the day? You might be bipolar throughout the week? Bipolar maybe. Maybe a more experienced person can help you besides me. Have you tried going to a psychologist or counselor? That might help

Once you realize that life is not going to be happy all the time you will probably feel better. Life is a rollercoaster and with every up htere is a down and with every down there is a up.
you learn from the down's to appreciate your life when it is up and you realize from being up that it is harder at the top.

it maybe that you are depressed (something to do with your Brain), did you just have a baby or lose someone special to you? perhaps a relationship gone bad? you may need to get away from everything for a bit! try a new and different exercise or something you never have before.
