This becomes:
2/5x+1/8y=1/4.
=> 16/5x+y=2
=> y = -16/5x+2.
Therefore, the slope is -16/5, and they y intercept is 2.
Put y = 0, we get 16/5x=2.
x=10/16. Hence, x intercept is 10/16.
Hope this helps(..)

dividing throughout by 1/8
16/5x+y=2
y= 2-16/5x
Substitue this in equation 1 you will get x
substitute in second equation to get y
slope=-16/5
y interecept is 2
y=mx+c is the equation of the line with m the slope and c the y intercept.
2/x=-16/5
Then x= -10/16 which is the x intercept. Since y intercept is positive x intercept should be negative.
