This a a question such as for those 50 years of age or older such as, "Where were you when you heard President Kennedy was killed?" One does not forget time and places during such an event.
My answer to your question took place one Northern plain State of the USA back on October 28, 1986.
I lived in a very small rural town with a population maybe over 300 citizens. It was around 2:00 PM CST. I was heading out to my car and something caught my attention to my left in the corner of my eye. I looked up and no more than about 200 feet above me was this perfect black Triangle with what looked like little round windows on its thin side flying slowly and not making one bit of sound.
I was just about to turn 30 years of age and I was old enough to know what I considered to be aircraft this thing was going to slow to stay airborn. About maybe three minutes later I hear the sound of Jets that seemed to be going in after-burn. Two Jets is what I remember. The Triangle as i recall was maybe about the size of three train cars. I am not sure about this because it was about 200 feet above me.
Before the Jets could get into the same area of vision I had on this black Triangle it apeared for maybe a quater of a second "skip about 2o feet" from one spot to another. Then it is like it diappaeared. I can not tell f it moved to fast to follow it or if it what appeared to be turn invisible.
The Jets roared maybe the same height over my fileld of view. Within 10 minutes maybe the Jets came back flying fast but not as fast when I first saw them. then they kept going until I could no longer see nor hear them.
This is the first and last time I ever seen anything such as this. But I will never forget it!

Ok, apart from a man crossing the zebra crossing stark naked, in the middle of day ! well that is the most extraordinary: This is London, North London to be specific, near WoodGreen tube. It was midday on a week day, on a busy high street and I saw the following: A pretty blonde girl, dressed in a tankini flat on the pavement and she was being kicked by two huge black guys and another blonde girl, kicked in her stomach, face , etc.. There was blood all over her face. They stopped kicking for a while, she stood up, was very wobbly on her feet and fell back on the pavement. No body interfered, but i heard an ambulance coming so some one must have called.

September 1991. Being called out of a staff meeting to watch the tanks roll out of the centre of Moscow. The rumble was incredible, you could feel it long before you saw the tanks. The thing that sticks in my mind most, were the flowers sticking out of the gun barrels and everyone smiling. Moscow at that time was not renowned for people smiling and that one act changed everything. Life there was never the same.

I once saw a very smartly dreesed woman sitting at a table in the restaurant we were in and she had a bow of ribbon stuck to the end of her nose. Her companions were talking to her in the normal way and no one was laughing. We were splitting our sides and thought we might be on Candid Camera but we never were.

The rings around Saturn and its major moons - also the Great Red Spot on Jupiter was cool. It is also neat how Venus mimics the moon as far as how the light hits it. (If the moon is a crescent, so is Venus.)

I love my telescope. It even attracts people that don't care about me or space.
