As long as she is gaining weight and thriving there isn't anything to worry about. If she were to stop gaining weight or start to lose weight than there would be cause for concern. Every baby is different. Our second baby would suck down an 8 ounce bottle in no time flat and want more. But our 3rd and 4th often drank smaller amounts in one sitting.
Perhaps you could try feeding her more often is she is going to take in smaller amounts? If you are really concerned only offer her formula and not any juice or water.
Keep an eye on her total amount of formula intake for an entire 24 hour period instead of just focusing on how much she drinks at one time. This is a better indication of how much she is eating.

At 2 months your baby should be feeding 5-8 times per day and consuming 3-4 oz. per feed for a total of 20-28 oz. per day. Babies don't usually consume 5 oz. in a single feeding until they're about 4 months old so it sounds like your baby is perfectly normal. More important than the amount your baby is eating is whether or not she is gaining weight and growing appropriately. Try not to get too hung up on specific amounts because what is "normal" truly will vary from one baby to the next.

Your pedi probably isn't worried about it because she's gaining a sufficient amount of weight and is healthy. Most pedis worry when the percentile fluctuates too much. None the less a baby should be eating 1 oz for every 2 lbs. Ex: At that age my daughter weighed about 8 lbs so she only ate about 4 ozs. Even think of it this way if you have a tiny baby would you expect her to eat a lot. Hope it helps.

How often is your baby eating? It may be that she is just eating more often then the babies that are taking 5 at a time. You could try spacing the feeding out a little and she might take more at once but it's not really necessary. As long as she is gaining good weight I'm sure she's fine. Good luck with your baby.

It is up to your child. It would depend a lot on how active she is and how often she sleeps. Also, on how many feedings she gets a day. The more there is, the less the amount you'll have to give her. I would not worry about it at all unless she started losing weight. If she seems to be getting dehydrated then force some kind of fluid into her system so she won't get ill.

There is nothing wrong with your baby! As long as she is eating. If she stopped eating then you would have reason for concern. Now, if she was only drinking 3oz every 8 hours then you also have a reason, but if she is drinking 3oz every 2hours, there is nothing to worry about. All this may mean that you have a picky eater on your hands,

I`ve had 5 children and 2 Grandchildren and they all drank differently. My oldest boy would only take about 2 ozs. at a feeding. My youngest Granddaughter took 5 ozs. If your Doctor isn`t concerned then relax. He would be the one to know best.

a baby needs to get 4 oz every 4 hours. if she is eating 3oz every 3- 3 1/2 hours she is fine as long as she is getting 20 to 24 oz a day
