I currently live in Portland, Ore., which many consider to be some kind of paradise. However, after 7 years here, I am tired of the constantly poor economy/endless struggle to find jobs (I have a Masters degree from an Ivy League school); and the weather is depressing. I manage a nonprofit, which I love, but I've been priced out of the housing market.

Where is the economy better? Where is housing affordable? Where is a small to mid-size city that respects nature, loves dogs, and is genuinely friendly?

I am an Oregonian by birth, so I can understand where you are coming from. Do you want to move out of Oregon, or even out of the Northwest? Seattle is great, but the weather is worse. How about Spokane, east of the Cascades and wonderful wine valleys, etc? Other great states nearby are Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. Also, the cost of living in these states are comparable. Try looking on Monstermoving or something like that. Good luck!!!
PS. I think Spokane is a great place to start for you, because you mention "small to mid-size city that respects nature, loves dogs, and is genuinely friendly". That's what I am looking for, too

San Francisco- I live here andi love it, the weather is average 75 year round and never gets below 45 duriong the day. Although it is a big city, people have a neighborly feel about them, ive never been anywhere else like this. If you want to live in a city atmosphere then try to live in the financial district, mission is kind of scary, sunset is near the ocean and is nice, but affordabe. Marina is on the ocean but is usually pretty expensive, russian and nob hill are nice, tenderlion is the ghetto, a lot of my friends live in the richmond distict and that is really nice too and still affordable. I hope you choose San

If a million/2 the kinfolk approves of the pass, and it somewhat is extra decrease priced for a extra superior room, i'd say, decide for it. Getting extra for his money would be an progression to his existence. Now how with regards to the food? Are they complete food or snacks. Do they get fruit daily. And what approximately pill dispension. Is somebody in fee of that, to eliminate errors. some places have the overseeing of an RN. yet in addition many places can no longer have adequate money the amenities. And does the dispenser of the pills, placed on rubber gloves for sanitary motives? there is plenty to contemplate before you displace him. make constructive he can cope with the transition, so he does not get afraid after shifting. I actually have a chum, who died 2 days after her pass. She replaced into dealt with badly by potential of paintings rigidity in that wing, and he or she went right into a catatonic techniques set. And did no longer know her daughter. and then she died here day. So weigh issues heavily.

Try to move to Southern Oregon (the Medford/Grants Pass area), a more sane and conservative part of the state. Portland stinks, in my humble opinion.
