It's going to be about the literary elements in Sonnet 116, which is about true love. But I wasn't sure how to start it off? I'm really bad at starting essays, so i was wondering if you guys could help me off to a good start? Thanks =D

I'm a teacher, and I would begin with a simple thesis statement. You can even say something like, "William Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 is about true love." Then, as Jim H. said, go to a quote to begin backing up your thesis. Your ending should mirror your thesis, by re-stating it at the end of your essay. Good luck!

Romeo and Juliet changed how people look at romance. What romance was before Shakespeare was an arranged marriage. Marriage was not always happy, and very seldom could you marry for love. Romeo and Juliet showed us what true love is. Sheakepeare loved the idea of love at first sight, and even though it does not exist, many situations in his plays could not exist. Check out A Midsummer Night´s Dream, or Hamlet, The Tempest..etc. But it gave the audience a chance to escape and live in an entirely different world. Yes it is a tragedy, but that was his purpose. To show what life would be like to live without the person you truely love. To live without love as Juliet would be forced to do, or as Romeo felt he must without Juliet would be the true tragedy. To them, death is nothing. Because in death, they will never be parted.

Shakespheare seems to probe more deeply into what love is not within this sonnet than what it is. The structure mirrors St. Paul's musings about love in Corinthians.

I dont read Shakespeare,but i know about love,to help you maybe dig like this.....Love is tressure takes me with pleasure with a 100 percent measure,in angles of life, love i will carry like it will be my burden,see Love from shoulder to shoulder take no heed But with Love i truly Keep like everday ,Love defently is a Trip ,and everyday i sleep, love is my dream,......I made this up because if Shakespere can write so can you and i Remember Friend ,Its all in the mind of creativity,seek and find in the mind,best wishes in your project.Peace

Start off with a quote. Lecturers love quotes, plus it gets over the writers block and looks professional. Also gives you something to refer to in your 1st paragraph
