I expected her to give me a recommendation, but she said she does'nt have the time, and i should give her the material in the second week of December. Thats WAY too late!

I guess you could write it for her and ask her to review it and sign it. Otherwise, you are at her mercy. Reiterate why it is so important and that it is time sensitive. Good luck.

Teachers don't HAVE to give recommendations, and if you panic or nag her, she certainly won't give you a good one! I would calmly explain to her that you need it by X date (teachers are busy - be reasonable, but also build in a couple of days so if she forgets you're not too stuck), and ask if it is possible. If not, try to find another teacher who is willing and able to do so. And be fair - teachers are people with lives and other things to do, too. What seems like a major deal for you is just one more task that she would probably rather not do!!!

Is it possible that she's putting you off because she can't give you a good one? If it isn't that, then you need to look for someone else to do it for you. As a teacher, I am very busy but never too busy to help one of my students with something like this.

well all i'll say on that, is your nutts if you let get be her decision, i'de take it up with her boss! i bet she'll find time then. i was a teacher once, putting things off, get's you layed off, and or fired

Talk to her and explain the reason. Be assertive.
