So, my coach says I need a new, better raquet. I need some suggestions. I'm 14, a girl, I've been playing for going on three years, and I'm kinda tall for my age (5'8"). I guess you could say I'm an...intermediate player. I need a really good raquet, price doesn't matter. Any suggestions? Oh, also, one that comes with an attached shock absorber would be nice. I don't really care for the ones you have to put on yourself. They don't seem to do the job for me.

Look for a medium weight racquet that is fairly flexible. Don't look for specific brands. All companys make great racquets and many different types. Try the Dunlop Lady M-Fil or M-Fil 4 hundred. The price of Dunlop racquet won't break your bank account either. Make sure the grip size is not too small. Shock absorbers do nothing but alter the sound of the strings. Most top line racquets come with a dampner.

I'm an intermediate player myself and also 5'8" (although quite a bit older!) :) Have you tried out the "W" series that Wilson came out with about a year ago? Apparently they were designed for women. I demo'd a couple of them and really liked them...I think there are maybe 3 or 4 different ones in the series and they range from $200 to $280, if I remember correctly. It's always a good idea to try a racquet out (if you can) before you buy. Good luck :)

i would definately tell you to go for the liquidmetal head raquet. i am the same age and it is an exellent raquet. its light and the head is very large and it comes with a shock absorber already included. it's handle absorbs sweat so it is not slippery the tenhsion is tight enough so the ball goes far but loose enough so you dont have to swing hard.... its an exellent raquet believe me... its priced around 100-200 dollars depending on were you live....

Ok there are several things to consider which are what patterns do you prefers 16 x 18 or 18 x 20 string pattern, next do you want a standard 27 inches or the extended versions >27.5, next the weight of the racket should be considered. next, do you want a racket that flexes a lot or a very stiff racket.
