Everyday I wish I could sing, because I write songs, and everyday I wish I were up on stage, singing for my fans and being someone. Miley Cyrus is my role model, though I'm 18 lol, and I look up to her and wish everyday I had a career like hers. Singing on stage, fans calling me name. More than anything I wish I were a singer, up on stage, and I wish I could be in Hollywood so I could prove that in Hollywood, you CAN be real.

If you want to sing on stage then don't go to Hollywood. You will need to be in New York. The opportunities in New York are far greater. Be warned it's the BIG time and everybody will be better than almost everyone you know so you had better be the best and most talented around. I was a session drummer in New York for a number of years and played with several Broadway shows and I was stunned at first at how fantastic the talent is.
If you want to be "real" then New York is the place. I like to visit LA but was always glad to get back to NYC. At least in New York if people ignore you then you know they are busy. In LA if they ignore you they are looking down on you. While I'm not known to people on the street for my career, people that work in music know me. So take some advice and go east.

When I was your age I made a decision to try & make it as a singer songwriter. I spent about ten years & never really made any good money, but I never regretted doing it. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I still write & play but not in a band anymore. I said to myself if I can't make it by 30 I'll do something else. At least now I don't have to look back & say I wish I had tried doing it. Good luck to you. Music is a tough buisness & I never really looked at it as a business.
