The person may have their dates off a bit and be earlier than they think. Or the uterus may be tilted a bit so it's harder to find. I saw and heard the heartbeat on the ultrasound at 7.5 weeks just a month ago. It was very small but visible. They will probably want to check again in a week to see if the dates are wrong.

The heart is definitely beating. The baby is just very very small. The doctor has to have the ultrasound in exactly the right place to hear the heart beat. A friend of mine has an ultrasound at 14 weeks and the doc couldn't find the heartbeat. It is nothing to worry about.

It just means either the baby's heart isn't beating yet, or is not beating steadily yet. You may not even be a full 8 weeks pregnant yet...
But shouldn't you have asked your doctor while you were in the office for the ultrasound... i know if the couldn't hear my baby's heartbeat i would have flipped out- as it is i cried anyway (good tears)

It means that maybe you're not 8 weeks pregnant. Besides that is ONLY a guide, it does not mean that every baby on this planet has a heartbeat at 8 weeks, some develop faster while other's take a little more time. No two pregnancies are ever alike, they are right from the start individual pregnancies, if you're that concerned consult your doctor.

He suggested that at the instant you have to be waiting to take heed to the pulse with the aid of a doppler. It took him like 5 minutes and my coronary heart exchange into beating like loopy i exchange into soo hectic!! yet then there it exchange into, my infant's heartbeat at 160bpm!! do not difficulty it is so everyday to have this worry, all of us are going for the time of a similar ingredient! stable success which includes your ultrasound, i'm specific each thing would be large!

I had an ultrasound at just under 7 weeks along and we heard and saw the heartbeat loud and clear. This wasn't done at my doctor's office, it was done at a hospital with the sensitive ultrasound equipment they use there.
If I recall correctly, the heart starts beating right around 6 weeks. At this point I wouldn't worry too much, you could have your dates wrong; the ultrasound machine could be an older model, the baby could be "hiding"......it could be lots of things. Ask your doctor about it so he/she knows that you are concerned and makes you another ultrasound appointment in the near future.
Good luck!

at 8 weeks the embryo is like a peanut so maybe not detectable yet its sooooooo small so nothing to worry about you really should have asked the scanographer what she meant by this but 8 weeks is sooo premature not even a baby yet so fear not im sure if there was any woories they would have had you right in

That early, it's too small to hear probably, at 8 weeks the fetus is only half an inch long! That's pretty small. It's beating, though.

Why not ask the staff (the sonographer) - they can tell you exactly and honestly from the details in front of them rather than people guessing on here. If they didnt say anything at the time then I would doubt there is a problem but it might put your mind at rest to know for certain xx
