The moon is much smaller than the earth, and has far fewer metallic elements in it. Since the moon has lower gravity, it takes less work to do the same tasks. This might translate into less fuel being necessary for a task, or less oxygen for a human being who is engaged in a task. It would also mean that someone living on the moon would have to become accustomed to dealing with the same mass at lower gravity; such a person might also have to exercise more to stay healthy.

the more mass something has the stronger the gravity (if you hold a weight from a string and go next to a mountain it will slightly lean toward the mountain because the mass of the mt. will have a lil' more gravity
