i have a honda 6.5 hp gx 200 engine. i know that its not great for your engine over long term use but i still want to try it. ive researched it a lot over the past week and can't find a visual description or even a verbal or anything to help me out. if any one has any ideas on how to make it go faster with out spening money or getting new parts please help.

The only thing the governor does is limit maximum engine speed.
The throttle butterfly will still open all the way under load.
The max engine speed by the book is 3600 rpm.

If you're just trying to increase the max RPM, increase the spring tension to the throttle.

I highly DON'T recommend disconnecting the governor. You'll blow the connectiong rod in just a few seconds.

There is no governor. The computer controls the engine speed. You will need to check with a Honda dealer to see if they make a chip to put in the computer to make the car go faster.

it's under the fly/fan wheel. however you can just unhook the sping the goes to the carb insted of taking the motor apart..then just stand back and pick up the pices when it blows....have fun

Dude...Larry M..umm he said it a 6.5hp gx200....that's a small air cooled motor...lawnmower or go cart more likely...and yes it does have a governor
