when i prees the wireless button there is no light to say "active" so when try to log on to the internet i get a "unable to connect" message ? i just keep pressing the wireless button and eventually i get connected but any sugestions to stop this irritation would be appreciated ? also could i set my laptop to go wireless automatically each time i switch on ? instead of having to press the wireless button ? thanks!?

It just may be that you are not waiting long enough for the laptop to load all your software, so that the wireless will work.
wait for hard drive activity to stop before you try to connect to the Internet.
I say this as my laptop takes a while to load before my wireless will work.
