If they had called him '004' then you would've asked the same question only 'what's so special in the number 4' So there really no point here. He's called 007 because that's what the author wanted to call him. Nothing special. No secrets. Why was Hannibal Lector called Hannibal? Why was Bugs Bunny called Bugs Bunny? The ONLY sure thing we DO know is that you call yourself 'Scooby' because you like Scooby Doo! But, then again, why is Scooby Doo called Scooby doo? ;-)

Well the prefix 00 means that they have killed at least 2 people before. The number 7 just denotes what number he is ,nothing special I think.

I'm pretty sure the number 007 means license to kill and 007 just sounds better. With the license to kill thing, I would look it up.

the "00" means that he has a licence to kill, 7 is just a lucky number, I guess....
