I remember seeing KC and the Sunshine Band perform the song and thought for a long time that they recorded it, but it may have been a one time thing, Like American Bandstand or something. Wild Cherry sang the one you hear on the radio all the time.

Wild Cherry from their self-titled debut. KC & Sunshine Band have NEVER recorded this song. Nor has Average White Band. There was a remake in the late 80s but thus, it was not a hit.
