Any type of vigorous exercise helps to reduce stress which interfears with both memory and decision-making.We find it hard to think well when we are under stress.Stress cuts off input from our subconscious minds which provides us with creative solutions to our problems. That's why people frequently come up with new insights when they are extremely relaxed such when they are in the shower or just waking up in the morning.Running takes people away from the stress and problems of their lives and creates a relaxation effect in the mind which improves memory and sometimes gives people new ideas and solutions to the problems they are dealing with.
