My baby will be 3 months old and has plenty of hand me down toys from her siblings, so i don't plan to get her much of anything because
a. she can't open presents yet
b. her relatives will get her plenty i am sure
c. why waste the money if she won't even know
Although you may want to get him something so look for some toys that encourage tummy time or some rattles. Some toys are for birth and up although most of the toys are for 6 months and up that's when they really start to play. Maybe he would like something that plays music in his crib.

Save your money, a 4 month old has no idea what christmas is and can't unwrap toys. There is no point in buying a baby a gift. My daughter is 2, I've learned this from past christmas.

My daughter was 5 months old on her first christmas. She received some age appropriate toys, and a few to grow into since her birthday wasn't going to be until May.

A mobile that allows him to reach and kick, stuffed animals, a butterfly ball, a bouncy chain or one of those swing chairs for the house. You can always start buying the next stage up in development, then he will have something in 2 months.

I think the greatest gift a parent can give is his/her time; get books and read to him! My mother read to me, especially nursery rhymes, when I was tiny; I credit that for a lot of my ability in understanding rhythm and music.

At 4 months he neither needs nor will appreciate presents. Just shower him with love - that is what he needs most at his age.

rattles, teethers, balls are all age appropriate, clothes etc, your child is too young to care what they get for Christmas anyway.
