When do you begin? Do you do most of your shopping online? Do you make any of your own gifts? Do you budget or just see something and buy it?

I had started with my Christmas shopping. I being in mid Novermber and I don't buy any shopping online.I only make gift for my friends.

Yes I've started and am about half done and even have some wrapped ... but arguably the ones that are wrapped are for a charitable toys for tots kind of thing where I need to deliver them by Dec. 1.
BUT ... My goal is to have all my shopping done before Thanksgiving even if I have to take a day of Vacation Monday or Tuesday to wrap it up. The "great" deals the day after Thanksgiving are usually not that great to put up with the crowds and hassles of shopping on Friday. And if by some rare chance something does go on a great sale price I can always return to the store at a calmer time like Monday or Tuesday the week after Black Friday for a partial refund.
I do a large percentage of my shopping online ... not all, but easily 50 -75 % because it is a lot easier to "see" the wide variety of items available and price shop for the best price.
I do make some of my gifts by hand ... maybe 10 - 20%.
I have a loose budget that I want to spend per individual or for the total holiday ... but it isn't set in stone ... sometimes I spend less, sometimes a little more ... for me it isn't about the money I do or don't spend .. it's about finding something I think the receiver will REALLY enjoy!

DONE DONE DONE !!
I start right after Christmas and shop all year long finding the bargains throughout the year.
I keep a record book of who I bought what since I buy so early it is easy to forget.
I do no shopping on line but just this year I did buy one birthday gift for a 2007 birthday already.
The gifts I make are cookie dough & scarves.
I do not budget yet I keep track and spend approx. $15 per person. When I find something for only $5 but the original tag said over $100 I always leave that original tag on. HA HA HA !!

I began shopping around November 1st. No, I do not do most of my shopping online, unless I cannot find the item in the store. I make many gifts, especially ones for friends. I have a somewhat budget.

I make some for people I don't really know but the rest i do online I love how they gift wrap it for you. I saves a lot of time during the crazy holidays.

i actually have started shopping, right now i am starting to shop online so i can be sure that they will arrive on time. i am waiting for black friday to get thethings i can't find online, after black friday most of my shopping will probably done.
