Six years after having obtained his telephone patent he became a naturalized citizen of the United States. No the man was a Caucasian, born in Scotland and moved to Canada. It was while he was living in Canada that his work on the telephone was completed and he flew his plane the silver dart in the east coast. Mr. Bell retired to Boston? I'm not sure. But he did retire to the U.S.A. and he died in that country.
