From reading your scenario, it doesn't sound like you need a new HTML IDE. Instead, your site is likely decreasing in page rank on the search engines because your site's content has not changed in 5 years. The search engines weight sites that are updated regularly higher becuase they recognize the content is current and therefore more valid to the subject matter. Update site content regularly. Another gauge of your site's pagerank is the traffic. If you don't regularly update the site, there is little reason for return visits by users. Keep it fresh and informative, but relevant. If you want to increase your page rank you should also incorporate the important keywords for your site in the meta information, title, headers, and content. The other big contributor is to have other sites link to your site. The search engines recognize backlink as a sign other people find your site valuable and legitimate.

If you really want a good web development IDE, professionals will either use Dreamweaver, BBEdit (Mac only), or Visual Studio. FrontPage is not a good HTML editor because it is bloated software taking up a lot of system resources unnecessarily and it adds a lot of unnecessary Microsoft information into the code making your page sizes larger and slower to load.

Good Luck.

Check out the link below. It's a free html editor that's fairly robust and still intuitive.

The site is pretty bad, I agree -- but that has nothing to do with search engines. Both Google and Yahoo have help pages for suggestions on how to deal with search engines.

luck!

HTML is a markup language, it would not enable to technique any good judgment, its basically stable for exhibiting tips. a splash greater valuable than the black history console/terminal ;) A programming language facilitates you to grant some intelligence on your utility, working example while asking the consumer " a million + a million = ? " the utility could be "taught" to tell apart if the respond is right or not in accordance to the mathematical regulations. in this feeling, the seen representation " a million + a million = ? " could be shown in HTML on a similar time as the validation of the respond could be made in own living house page, Ruby, PERL, etc...
