The colder water is harder for your body to absorb. I don't know if its bad for your health though.

According to ayurveda, it is better to drink room temperature or warm fluids, they are more easily absorbed and will not shock your system. This is true even in the summer time.

I find that I am able to drink more water now that I drink it warm. Water is delicious that way, in fact. And drinking water that has been boiled for 10 minutes is healthier anyway. You definitely don't want to drink 2-4 quarts a day of regular tap water with nothing done to it.

When people start drinking enough warm water, they often find that many positive health changes happen. That's what I found.

dirnking cold waters bad for you? how told you that? and mr truth only 2 glass a day? unless they're big glass then your gunna dehydrate very fast. the human body needs on average 2 liters of water a day to function properly, obviously the smaller you are the less you need and the bigger you are the more you need, also the more active you are the more fluid you need. if it is really cold it may make you feel unwell if you are hot but thats as bad as itll get, just make sure you drink plenty of it tho eh?

It isn't so much that it is bad for you, it is that luke warm, or lightly chilled water is better. Ice water, especially if you have been working hard or running, can make you throw up. the sudden shock of ice water in a warm body will cause a not-so-nice reaction. Not only that, but the sudden shock of a haot body and ice water can shock your heart, which can lead to cardiac arrest, but that is only in severe cases, or if you have severe heart trouble already. If you feel you must drink ice water, sip it slow, and not when you are overheated or just finished a run.

I dont reckon anything is wrong with cold water...unless you have sensitive teeth. My work collegue says that if you drink cold water it makes you put on weight! When i asked her to explain she said its because our bodies think it is winter and that it thinks we need to bulk up to survive the winter!(apparently this goes back to when humans were more animal -like!) God knows who told her that but she is convinced that it is true and seems to think it makes a lot of sense! you just cant argue with some people!

Where did you read that? It's important to drink plenty of water, its good for you in many ways, including concentration, skin, circulation, etc etc. The only thing that I can think of about drinking very cold water is that your core temperature is 37 degrees c, and it uses some energy to bring the liquid ingested to your body's temperature. But I don't think its harmful.

Water is good for you as far as I know, it just doesn't contain chemicals that let your body absorb it quickley, which is why there are isotonic drinks out there that have salts and stuff that allow your body to absob them quickley. Not saying that these are good for you though, personally, I'd stick to water, nothing wrong with flushing your body through a bit.

Just my opinion

2 main things:

1, cold water slows your metabolism

2, the spleen has to regulate the temperature of the body (and western medicine has found no use for it?) so you are stressing your system by putting anything too cold or too hot into it

This is only problematic to your health if you have symptoms of heat exhaustion and you intake cold water, it can shock your system. It can lead to heart failure.
