Whenever i accelerate to pass or go over a hill, my a/c cuts out. As long as i stay at a steady speed it works great. My cruise contol also works intermittently.

Some vehicles are equipped with a switch that turns off the a/c when extra power is needed, but since you are having trouble with the speed control, it is probably related to engine vacuum. If the car is old with a lot of miles, the engine may not be able supply the vacuum needed at wide open throttle settings. Bad vacuum lines could also be the culprit. A bad line in one place can affect all other operations where vacuum is needed.

It could be a problem with your vacuum system. I have a 92 lumina and I had a similar problem though min turned out to be just a return spring that fell off on of the actuators that controls the air vents. But in your car since the cruse does not work as well than I think it could just be a dried out vacuum line. Look under the hood and see if you can find and vacuum lines that have cracks. I don't know what year you have but on mine all the major vacuum lines are all behind the engine just under the hood seal. You can also take out the glove box and from their you will be able to see every thing. Look for broken hoses or missing springs.
