Of course, he's a maestro and his contribution to the game has been immense.

Furthermore, he again propelled France to another World Cup Final.
The same French team that were written off as 'also rans', before the start of the tournament.

It might be difficult for Cannavaro to pick up another award after winning the Ballon D'Or. In addition the votes for this award are taken from the managers and captains of all FIFA members.

A wave of nostalgia and sympathy (for his red card), might be enough to swing the votes in his favour, in addition to his brilliance.

Probably an Italian, although he wouldn't deserve. It has to be either Henry or Zidane. Especially since Zidane and not Buffon/Cannavaro, won the world cup award.

No, coz thats not fair. I think Arsene Wenger was right to say Thierry Henry should win this year.Zidane was playing below avg. for Madrid, n even Madrid fans were saying he's become old and he's over now. But he proved he's a champion yet again and performed terrific at the World Cup, but he's won the Golden Ball for that, overall annual performance wise Henry

Yes I would be VERY happy, he deserves it!!! And everyone that's talking about the headbutt, just shut up please? You're just making a fool out of yourself everyone knows WHY he did it, and you know that you would have done the same thing. And a headbutt is the "hit" that hurts the least. At least he didn't punch him that's what most of us would have done. He is an excellent player and NO ONE is perfect.

He doesn't deserve it. Because players at that level are NOT allowed to lose their temper,it is part of being a perfect player. Not to mention that it was his last game and his country needed him. Plus he could cause materazzi trouble by the way he attacked him.

I have a feeling you won't be happy if Zidane wins.

BTW, you are not the real Juventina

I don't care either way. Are you disappointed that Materazzi
didn't make the final cut?
