i urge anyone who does, to drop them. they have denied claims to those left homeless because of katrina. saw an expose on one of the news channels last night. it is absolutely tragic.

It's a business and as terrible as that may sound, a lot of those people lost their houses to the floods not because of the cyclone. Having homeowners insurances does not necessarily mean you have flood insurance. If certain underwriters told clients they would be covered from floods then those specific agents should be held responsible and not the parent company. I'm certain Nationwide is not the only insurer that is going to face an inquiry. State Farm, Met Life et al I'm sure will have or have had some scrutiny.

This is a very hard learned lesson that will teach people to read what they're signing.
