I have a 1992 Nissan Maxima and the passenger side headlight is not working on low beam - works fine on high beam. Bulb is fine, fuses are OK and I dont think there are relays for the headlights. I checked the leads which connect to the lamp with a voltmeter and the only difference between the working light and the non-working light is the voltage across the highbeam and lowbeam leads. On the working light, there is 12V across the two on Lo and 0.5V across the two on Hi. On the nonworking light there is no voltage across the two leads on Hi and Lo. I cant come up with a solution, someone please help me out.

Headlight has to be bad. Should only cost $5 - $10 to replace it.

Unplug the wiring connector from one of the low-beam lights. Using a voltmeter check for 12 volts at the plug when you turn on the lights. If you're getting voltage, then the filaments are bad- replace the headlights. If you're NOT getting voltage, then it's either a bad relay, or the headlight switch is bad.

Sounds like the low beam wire is parted somewhere. Check the wiring from source to ground to see if there is no voltage. If the hi beam works, there should be battery voltage from source to ground. If the lo beam has no voltage to ground, it is either the wire is broken, or a fuse is blown. I have never seen a system with separate fuses for each, most of the time a fuse will kill both lights on that beam.

Change the bulb... There are 2 filaments in the bulb one for low beam and one for high. The high beam filament is still good . The low beam filament is bad. Change the bulb and you'll be ok!
