What would you do to help society?

Well most importantly I'd make sure my wealth lasts so I can keep helping for longer.
I'd probably want to make a bit more before I used a considerable chunk to help society.
I wouldn't give to any charities though. I think they are kind of self-defeating. I would like to help make my hometown somewhere worth visiting.
I would save small shops and things like that. Try to stop the big corporations taking over.
Give to the smaller cities (in Britain where I live) and help them to get more things and to compete with London. London gets too much and it's not fair on people who live nowhere near it.
I would help fund things like skateparks and independant cinemas and youth hostels so people can travel about the country on a budget.
I don't see much point in giving thousands of pounds to a charity for a rare disease which is only going to benefit about 10 people across the whole country. Or to cancer research or something when people are going to continue to smoke and then wonder why they got lung cancer. Then they need to be treated on the NHS.

I would create an educational grant fund to be given to single custodial parents who have completed at least one semester, with passing grade. I would install it at a community college. I would make sure they had health insurance and good child care while they study. Long term, education is really what helps the individual and the community.
That is what I plan to do with my mom's estate, but fortunately she still is very much alive and kickin'.

I would donate to all local homeless shelters, find some families that 1 know that r poor around here and help them and then I would have to help animal shelters too! Mayb not quite the answer u were looking for but thats what I would do.

I would open business and try to get very successful at it. Once I had enough money, I would set up an orphanage somewhere in Africa.
