Germany was ground to dust by the end of WWI. The would need assistance from other countries to begin to rebuild their depleted resources in order to become self-sustaining. To avail themselves of these resources they were forced to sign the treaty accepting blame for the massive loss of life and property as a result of their effort to tyrannize Europe into German subjection.

The German army was not actually defeated on the field of battle and their country was not over-run but the Royal Navy had instituted a very successful long range blockade and Germany was starving. Coupled with this - the German government choose not to pay for the war by increasing taxes; instead they borrowed money that they thought could be repaid by reparations when the war was over, i.e., they won. By the autumn of 1918 the USA had entered the war and had a million men in France. So, Germany was broke and the banks would advance no more money, the people were starving the navy had mutinied and with the entry of the Americans defeat was inevitable. The signing of the treaty was to cause enormous resentment in Germany and those who signed it were labeled "The November Criminals". Check out http://www.berlin-explored.com

It brought about problems for the germans as a results of fact they weren't allowed to take heed to concerning to the treaty, so did no longer be attentive to the circumstances. They have been ordered by using the different international locations to pay back each and every of the debt, from damages brought about by using the conflict, which become blamed entirely on the Germans. This meant that the germans have been dropped right into a great recession, poverty become everywhere and no one had any money in any respect. Peoplee have been death, as a results of fact they have been paying the debt from the conflict. Hitler used this to declare that Germans should not be taken care of like that, that it become unfair, and he promised the persons, that he could make it greater useful, so as that they voted him into skill. i'm hoping this helps!!!

They didn't have a lot of choice. The Germans had lost the war, the people were starving, and the country was in revolution. The only chance to restore order and prosperity to the country was to sign the peace treaty.

They were pretty muched forced into it. The German generals decided that the Great War was going to bring Germany to her knees anyway, and agreed to surrender. the civillian politicians (later branded the November Criminals by Hitler) had no choice but to honour the Treaty and face scorn at home, as the Kaiserwehr had stood down. They did not expect the treaty to be so harsh.

I don't think they had much choice. They had just lost the war, and everyone else had their eyes on Germany. Ironically, the harsh measures instituted at the Treaty of Versailles engendered a feeling of resentment in the German people, which Hitler capitalized on when he took power.

It depends on who you believe, the allies or the Germans, the allies thought they had already won the war but the German military believed they were betrayed by communists and traitors, but history is always written by the winners so what is in the history books is that the Germans had lost the war which is arguable.

the usa had initially drawn up a plan consisting of certain points, which the germans had presumed would be used at versailles. but this didn;t happen, and germany was threatened with occupation by the allies if it didn't comply.

German civilians were starving beacuse of a british navy blockade and trhey had no choice. The allies had overrun their country- if they didn't sign then they simply would have been taken into our hands and governed by us completely- although that isd effectively what the trety did. Also the people signing it probably had guns to their heads
