Really, its just a sport. I give boxers alot of credit because it takes skill and dexterity to get in the ring with someone who might just pummel you to the floor. My favorite boxer is Muhammed Ali, he really could fight and he still stayed pretty! It is sad though that boxers suffer brain trauma, I see alot of them today wearing face coverage. At least that might help a little.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's an artform, but it's definitly not barbaric. It's a sport. It pays well and people enjoy seeing it.
There are other variations of boxing that I would call an artform. Muay Thai fighting is one, but maybe I'm a tad biased as my boyfriend is a Muay Thai fighter.

I lik eto think of it as art, love watching the perdictament they get them selves into and then getting out of it.

i would say it was an artform.....maybe that why more and more women are taking up the sport
